Order of Battle vs Old World Builder
Last updated:
Old World Builder (old-world-builder.com) is the dedicated, open-source Old World army builder a lot of players start with, and for good reason. It's quick, clean, links to a full rules index, supports community Renegade packs and tends to update soon after new books. Players also report two weak spots: some restricted picks can slip through, and lists are kept in your browser, so clearing your cache without an export loses them. Order of Battle shares that second trait (no account, lists on this device). Where it differs is what happens after the list is built. Composition flags show while you add units, and Play turns the list into a table screen for wounds, magic, phases, army rules and victory points. Order of Battle's Old World side is newer and in beta, and it does not have Old World Builder's full rules index. Try both. They're free, and many players keep more than one builder.
