How to use Order of Battle for The Old World

Last updated:

Order of Battle is a free, unofficial companion app for Warhammer: The Old World and Age of Sigmar. To use it for The Old World, open the menu and tap List builder under The old world. That section is in beta. Tap New list, pick a faction, and choose a Grand Army or one of the Armies of Infamy the app supports. Set your points and a format (Open, Grand Melee, Combined Arms or Battle March), then pick a General. As you add Characters, Core, Special, Rare and Mercenaries, the builder flags any category that goes over or under its limit. Equip magic items and command, and attach detachments where the unit allows it. When the list is ready, tap Play to track wounds, magic, phases and victory points during the game. There's no account. Lists stay in this browser, so export the ones you want to keep.

Open The Old World lists

Step 1: Open the menu

Under The old world, tap List builder (marked Beta).

Step 2: New list

Pick a faction, then Grand Army or an Army of Infamy.

Step 3: Points and format

2,000 points is the default; pick Open, Grand Melee, Combined Arms or Battle March.

Step 4: General first

Then fill Core so it meets its minimum.

Step 5: Add the rest

Characters, Special, Rare, Mercenaries. Watch the flags.

Step 6: Gear

Magic items, command, detachments.

Step 7: Play

Open the saved list and tap Play at the table.

What the flags mean

A flag means a category is over its cap or Core is under its minimum, or a format rule is broken. See composition caps. The builder catches a lot but not everything, so read restrictions in your book too.
